…Thomas Kühl, Regional Manager Sales North Europe
Hello, my name is Thomas Kühl. I am 41 years old and for more than two years I have been the Head of Regional Sales North Europe. I came to Volkswagen eleven years ago. At that time I was personal assistant to the Manager for the Genuine Parts Division worldwide. I was then Sub-department Manager for Genuine Parts Logistics and Area Manager of Passenger Car Sales in the Benelux countries. From 2001 to 2004 I had the opportunity to manage the Product Marketing and Strategy Department at Volkswagen de Mexico.

In my current job I am responsible for Scandinavia and the Baltic countries. My duties particularly involve coordinating with the importers and dealing with issues relevant to our brand positioning. This of course includes the four classic P's of marketing Place, Product, Price and Promotion, but people and strategy are also part of our focus.

The particularly interesting aspect of my job is working with my team and Volkswagen brand partners to gain market leadership against tough competition in the countries concerned. Everybody in my team is expected to do their bit and take responsibility for their own actions. From the team's point of view, strategic projects, such as the creation and development of a central importer for the Baltic states, and positive feedback from the markets for future product concepts are particularly highlighted as additional job motivation.

I see my future working with a global player such as Volkswagen with an international orientation, where I can enjoy a broad spectrum of development opportunities both nationally and abroad.

Here at Volkswagen we are proud of "our" brand, not least because Volkswagen treats its employees fairly and reliably. I look forward to the tasks ahead, for we in Sales have in the past demonstrated how we can rise above ourselves to meet the challenges of the market with outstanding services and products.
